Founded by Walther Moreira Salles (1912-2001) in 1990, the IMS contains important archives in four areas: photography, literature, music, and iconography, spanning from the 19th century to present day. Much of the material in the IMS\u2019s archives, as well as a calendar of (mostly free) events, is available on the IMS\u2019s website.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The IMS in Rio is located in the neighborhood of G\u00e1vea, very close to Rocinha.
